This summer I have enjoyed reading many chapter books. These are some of the books I read: Because of Winn Dixie, Diary of the Wimpy Kid, Judy Moore and many more. However, my favorite one of all was Diary of the Wimpy Kid Rodrick Rules!! :-)
I read 6 books this summer. The one I am currently reading is Angela's Ashes by McCourt. It is about an Irish Mother's life told by her son. The author gives vivid accounts of growing up in poverty in Ireland. He had many reasons to not pursue his education, but many people from his Ireland Community planted seeds in his head of having a better life. Inspite of being strickened by disease, living in slum-like conditions and having your his family ripped apart, McCourt went on to become a teacher and writer. This book is soul-inspiring. Y.
